Washington State Patrol title head How Can I Help?

donation formThe Washington State Patrol Missing and Exploited Children Task Force (MECTF) is asking you to partner with us to combat crimes against our children. On any given day, there are approximately 1,700 missing children in the state of Washington. Some of these children are runaways, abducted by a non-custodial relatives, but more and more are being lured into the hands of sexual predators via the Internet.

In the last few years, the number of missing and/or exploited children has reached staggering numbers nationwide. According to the National Incidence Studies of Missing, Abducted, Runaway, and Thrownaway Children (NISMART) "in 1999 an estimated 797,500 children were reported missing nationwide."

The Washington State Patrol, Missing and Exploited Children Task Force (MECTF) exists to protect our children in the state of Washington from becoming another alarming statistic. In 1999, the Washington State Legislature passed Senate Bill 5108 authorizing the creation of the MECTF, a multi-agency task force to assist law enforcement, social agencies, and proper custodial entities by conduction investigations of missing, abducted, and sexually exploited children. The Revised Code of Washington (RCW) 13.60.110 enables the task force to seek public and private donations to suppport their investigative efforts. The funds will be utilized for additional specialized training, improved computer equipment and software, and for overtime accrued when conducting investigations related to the abductions and cyber-sexual crimes against children.

Any contribution made by you may be tax deductible, and will benefit the MECTF's efforts in making Washington a safer place for our children. If you would like to make a donation, please use this donation form and send your contribution to:
