Check first with parents or the person
in charge before you go anywhere or get into a car, even with someone
you know.

Don't play alone or in isolated areas.
Take a friend when you go places or play outside.

Empty houses and construction areas
are not places to play.

Know your full name address and phone
number.

Don't go with anyone you don't know
well.

Learn to say NO, especially if you
feel uncomfortable. Say no if someone tries to touch you or treat
you in a way that makes you feel scared, uncomfortable, or confused.

Do not talk to or accept anything
from a stranger.

Always check first with parents or
a trusted adult before accepting anything from anyone, even from
someone you know.

Obey traffic lights and use cross-walks
when crossing the streets.

Walk with a friend. It's fun! You
will have company and people may not bother you as easily if you
have a friend with you.

Take the safest way to and from school.
Let your parents know which way you go home, so they can find you.

Don't tell anyone you're home alone.

Don't open the door to anyone you
don't know well.

Refuse to open the door if someone
asks to use the telephone or anything else.

Do not talk to strangers on the phone,
and do not tell unknown callers that you are home alone.

Tell an adult if you see anyone hanging
around near your home. If your parents are not home, have the telephone
number of a neighbor to call for help or DIAL 911 to call for the
police.

Learn how to call for help (For emergencies
call 911).

If you feel scared, uncomfortable,
or confused talk to your parents or a trusted adult.

Never give out personal information
to anyone online (your home or school address, phone number, photographs
of yourself, or anyone’s personal information).

Never agree to meet anyone that you
encounter online and tell your parents or teacher if anyone asks
to meet you.

Do not respond to messages that contain
information or photographs that make you feel uncomfortable.

Do not open or accept e-mails, files,
links, URLs, or other things from people you don't know or trust.
Show them to a parent first.

Do not give out your password to anyone
but your parents or guardian. Don’t even give them out to your best
friend.
