Welcome to the District 5 home page, full of facts, information, and data to help you learn about the services the Washington State Patrol provides in serving the southwest region of Washington State.

I graduated form North Mason High School in Belfair, Washington. I attended Seattle University and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1979. On August 9, 1985, I joined the WSP, attended the 62nd Basic Trooper Cadet Class and was assigned as a line traffic trooper to Bremerton from December 1985 until February 1992. I promoted to sergeant in February 1992 and was assigned as a detachment supervisor in Goldendale. I was assigned as a pilot to the Aviation Section in Yakima from August 1994 until February 1997. I transferred to the Aviation Section in Olympia in February 1997. I promoted to lieutenant in February 2000 and was assigned as an Assistant District Commander in District 1, Tacoma. I was promoted to captain on May 17, 2004, and assigned to District 5.

The Vancouver District includes the five counties located in southwest Washington: Clark, Skamania, Klickitat, Cowlitz, and Lewis. In addition to the district office located in Vancouver, there are four detachment offices located in Chehalis, Morton, Kelso, and Goldendale. Our detachments Web page provides specific information about each detachment office.

Goal 2 - Decrease the percentage of collisions, citizen complaints, and incidents involving aggressive drivers on the state route and interstate systems.

Goal 3 - Increase the percentage of seat belt usage by effecting programs that raise the awareness of restraint issues within our community.

Goal 4 - Decrease the percentage of collisions caused by speed on the state route and interstate system.
