  Washington State Patrol title head District 7 Detachments

WSP District 7 Map District 7 is responsible for the northern Puget Sound Region with headquarters located in Marysville (pictured below). We actively patrol Snohomish, Skagit, Island, and Whatcom Counties, and have jurisdictional responsibility for San Juan County, assisting the San Juan County Sheriff when requested.

District 7's jurisdiction includes the Washington State Ferry routes and their terminals at Mukilteo, Clinton, Edmonds, and Anacortes

District 7 currently has 14 sergeants and 107 troopers who are responsible for 6,327 square miles, including 853 miles of state highway, with an estimated population of 961,452 citizens. The district is divided into six Autonomous Patrol Areas (APA) as follows:

District 7 Headquarters


Whatcom County APA

The Whatcom County APA consists of two detachments with a total of 13 troopers and 2 sergeants working out of our Bellingham Detachment office. The geographic area for this APA is all of Whatcom County.



Skagit County APA


The Skagit County APA consists of two detachments with a total of 16 troopers and 2 sergeants working out of our Burlington Detachment office. The geographic area for this APA consists of all of Skagit County except parts of Fidalgo Island from Anacortes to Deception Pass.


Island County APA



The Island County APA consists of one detachment with a total of 9 troopers and 1 sergeant working out of our Oak Harbor Detachment office. The geographic area for this APA consists of all of Island County, except Camano Island, and the portion of Fidalgo Island between Anacortes and Deception Pass in Skagit County.


South Snohomish County APA

The South Snohomish County APA consists of three detachments with a total of 23 troopers and 3 sergeants working out of our Silverlake Detachment office. The geographic area for this APA is the southern, metropolitan area of the county, from the King/Snohomish County line to approximately Milepost 195 on I-5.


North Snohomish County APA



The North Snohomish County APA consists of two detachments with a total of 15 troopers and 2 sergeants working out of our Marysville District Office. The geographic area for this APA is the north end of the county, from I-5 Milepost 195 to the Snohomish/Skagit County line, and Camano Island.

 
East Snohomish County APA


The East Snohomish County APA consists of two detachments with a total of 16 troopers and 2 sergeants working out of our Monroe Detachment Office. The geographic area for this APA is from the SR 2 trestle to Stevens Pass. In addition, this APA has several troopers dedicated to patrolling Stevens Pass.

 
Motorcycles


District 7 has one motorcycle detachment which has 7 troopers and 1 sergeant. The motor officers are also used for dignitary escorts throughout the state. Their primary focus is to enforce traffic laws on the interstate throughout the entire district.

 
Other Divisions


In addition to the above, units from the following sections work in District 7:

  • Commercial Vehicle Division - Troopers and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officers
  • Investigative Assistance Division - Narcotics Detectives
  • Traffic Investigation Division - Detective Unit

The Marysville District Office also holds our Communications Center and a full-service Crime Laboratory.
