Workforce Investment Act-Dislocated Worker Programs

 Who qualifies?

Workers who become unemployed because:

• Plant shut down

• Company downsizing

• Work Skills no longer meet needs of employer community (ie: Timber, Fisheries).

• Displaced homemakers

• Some Self-Employed individuals

Services Offered:

• Development of individual employment plan

• Short-term pre-vocational services

• Follow-up services after a job is obtained

• Occupational skills training

• Job readiness training

• Adult education and literacy activities

• Short-term training

• On-the-job training/Work Experience positions

• Wage Subsidies
