Project Description
Ten talented, responsible, and dedicated members will be placed
in four elementary schools located in three communities in the
Walla Walla valley.
These members will serve as instructional
assistants and tutor over 120 district-identified students who
are struggling in the areas of reading and literacy skills.
Some AmeriCorps members also will recruit
church participants, business persons, civic organizations
members, and other individuals to consider being a mentor to a
child with an incarcerated parent or help to organize at least
one healthcare affiliated career fair to educate youth about
healthcare career options. |
