Project Description
The Tonasket
School District is a single campus rural school serving just
over 1000 students. AmeriCorps members are committed to
promoting lifelong literacy, increasing academic success, and
involving youth in service. Members will provide daily
individual tutoring to students who are reading below grade
level, after school tutoring and service learning opportunities
for youth. AmeriCorps members will have the opportunity to make
a difference in the community by providing valuable service
where needed. They will also explore civic responsibility
through a curriculum called Civic Engagement.
