JOB HUNTER WORK SHOPS

  • Workshops are open to the public, and are free to attend. 

Module One: Orientation to WorkSource Services

During this workshop, you will be given an overview of the services available at the local WorkSource office.  You also will learn abut other Job Hunter workshops so that you can plan the next steps in your job search journey.

 Module Two:  Knowing yourself
     Job seekers are continually faced with change and choices.  Learning “who you are” can affect how you plan, control, and shape your life.  Participate in this interactive workshop to gain new and exciting information about yourself.

 Module Three:  Skills and abilities
    
In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to compare the most effective methods of seeking work with the ways most people look for jobs.  You will build a plan for your own work search and learn strategies for contacting employers.

 Module Four: Perfecting Applications
    
An application for employment can make or break your chances with an employer.  In this workshop, you will learn how to complete an application that will attract employers and lead to more interviews.

Module Five:  Effective Resumes and Cover Letters
     Your resume must convey quickly that you are capable and competent enough to be worth interviewing.  In this workshop, you will learn how to prepare an effective resume with cover letter.

 Module Six: Interviewing Techniques
    
The job interview is where deals are sealed or hopes are dashed.  In this workshop, you will learn how to prepare for an interview. You also will practice your interviewing skills.
