GUIDE The Unemployment Insurance
Benefits Computer System
GUIDE (General Unemployment Insurance Development Effort)
is the automated system where UI claim records are processed and stored. These records
include information such as:
- Claimants name, address, telephone number, date of birth, etc.
- Starting and ending dates of each Washington UI claim for the past three years.
- Monetary entitlement: the weekly benefit amount and maximum
benefits payable on each claim.
- Claimants employment history since the beginning of the base year of each claim.
- Payments made on each claim.
- Nonmonetary eligibility issues that have been identified and/or
resolved.
- Any overpayment records.
- Amount of benefits charged to each base year employers
account for each claim.
GUIDE interfaces with several other computer systems including:
- Tax computer system (TAXIS) for wage records to calculate
monetary eligibility and benefit charging, and employer addresses to mail forms.
- Napersoft software to produce forms, letters, and determinations.
- Interstate Connection (ICON) system to request wage records from other states.
