A previous Quick Guide showed you how to use Outlook to vote on items. I recommend that you review that Quick Guide before continuing with this one.
I'm going to show you how to customize your voting buttons in Outlook. There is no reason to stick with the default buttons that Microsoft supplies. This Quick Guide shows you how to truly tailor your vote to suit your needs.
| 1.) The first step is to open up Outlook. Go to "File" on the menubar and select "New" followed by "Mail Message." |
| 2.) A new message box will appear. Go up to the boxes menubar and select "View," and then "Options." |
3.) This will open up the Message Options box. Go down to "Voting and Tracking options." Click on the "Use voting buttons:" box. This will reveal the default text for the voting buttons. The example shows "Approve" and "Reject" as the two button choices.
4.) Highlight the text of the buttons with your cursor (Hold down the left-button and drag over the text).
5.) Type in the button text you would rather use. Separate each button text with a semi-colon. I added extra text to create a third button in my example.
6.) Go to the bottom of the Message Options box and press the "Close" button.
Send out the e-mail to all of the people that you would like to vote.
7.) This is what the e-mail they will receive looks like. Once someone votes you will get an e-mail back with their choice.
