This short guide shows you how to freeze worksheet column titles in an Excel spreadsheet using a process called "freeze panes". This works great when you have a large spreadsheet and want the column titles to remain still while you scroll down the spreadsheet.

.) The first step is to open up your Excel spreadsheet and left click with your mouse directly below the row title that you want to freeze. In my example, I would like to freeze the row at the top of my spreadsheet.
.) The next step is to go to "Window" on the menu and click on "Freeze Panes". The title row is now frozen and you can scroll down, but keep the titles in the same place. The titles will remain frozen until you unfreeze them.
.) Here is an example of scrolling down the spreadsheet once the column titles are frozen. Notice how the second row that is displayed is actually row 7.
.) You unfreeze the column titles by clicking on the row below the titles. This is the same thing that you did in step one. Now go to "Window" on the menu and click on "Unfreeze Panes".
