Are
JobNet/TAXIS converted records considered TAXIS records
and therefore unable to merge because the system recognizes
them as TAXIS/TAXIS records? (05/22/07)
Converted TAXIS records are considered TAXIS records and can
not merge. We initially received a full dump of TAXIS
created Employers when SKIES went into production. From that
point forward, records are received through the regularly
scheduled interface. That is the difference between
converted TAXIS and interface TAXIS. All still originated
from TAXIS.
What
about data conversion records (not specified as JobNet)?
Are they TAXIS records and cannot merged – or – can they
merge? (05/22/07)
As long as the originating system was not TAXIS or through
the interface with Go2Worksource.com, the system allows them
to merge.
How to
keep other counties, WDAs, people, from having access to a
particular office or area’s employer record? (05/22/07)
Currently, there is no policy or statewide practice to
prohibit WDAs from sharing an employer record. This concern
will be presented at the next SKIES Change Control Board
meeting to assist with identifying the appropriate entity
for resolution.
Password
- How
do I change my password?

Staff Functions Menu at the top of the main SKIES screen. Select Change

When I try
to log on to SKIES I get a message that my Logon ID/Password is Invalid.
What to do?
(03/04/03)
-
Call
the SKIES Help Desk @ 360-438-4690 (or 1-800 331-5650 for Non-Employment
Security Staff). The Help Desk will reset your password If your office
is located in a Centralized WDA, (Seattle-King County; Northwest;
Southwest; and Spokane). If your office is located in any other WDA,
call your local WDA
Security
Administrator.
Provider Search
-
The Employment
Plan/Employ Plan/Services Tab/Provider Service field Find feature on
the overlay screen does not display. Why?
(06/17/03)
-
To search for
Provider name in the Find field, first type “Yes” or “No”, enter the
wildcard (%) adding no spaces, then type at least a portion of the
provider name; for example, type YES%COLLEGE%, select STATEWIDE,
click Apply. If you still cannot find the Provider you need in the
Statewide list or the local list, then contact your WorkSource
Delivery Area System Administrator to have them update you local WDA
listing.
Correspondence
-
How can I create
Correspondence Templates? (06/17/03)
-
Prior to creating
templates it is necessary for staff to be assigned a “correspondence
role’’ by their local Access Approver. When the role is assigned,
click Administrative in the menu bar and select Correspondence. An
automated tutorial is available Inside SKIES web page that gives
direction on how to develop a template. Find the first section
called Guides and Desk Aids, select Screen Viewlets, then select
Create Correspondence.
Duplicate
Records
-
How do I delete a
duplicate Job Seeker Record or change an incorrect SSN#?
(06/17/03)
-
A Job Seekers record
cannot be deleted from SKIES. However, the SSN# may be changed by
double clicking in the SSN# field. In doing this a pseudo SSN# will
automatically be assigned to the incorrect Seeker record. It is
necessary to document the action that has been taken in both of the
Seekers record for future reference. Record information in the
Notes Icon.
City/State/Zip Error Message
-
Saving data in Job
Seeker or Employer screens produces the error message: “City, State
& Zip Code invalid”. Why?
(06/17/03)
-
Go to Mailing
Address and Street Address fields, delete information that is in
city, state, county, and zip code fields. Then, click on the drop
down box next to the zip code field; enter the zip code followed by
the % (Wildcard) in the Find section of the overlay screen and click
Enter. This will automatically populate city, state, county and zip
code in mailing address and street address fields. Follow the same
process in both Job Seeker and Employer screens.
SKIES
Connection
-
All I get is a gray
screen when I access SKIES. Why?
-
When staff change
computers, it may be the J-Initiator was not re-installed on the new
computer. Go to desktop, click Start button and select Programs.
Look for J-Initiator 1.3.19. When J-Initiator is
not displayed, go to
www.wa.gov/esd/skies.
Click Software Tab, then click J-Initiator link and answer the
questions and allow a few minutes for J-Initiator to download. If it
appears that you don’t have appropriate permission from your local
area network to download software, it will be necessary to contact
an Information Technician for assistance.
CACHE
-
How do I clean out
the CACHE? (06/17/03)
-
Go to your Desktop
and click Internet Explorer, then Tools in the toolbar and select
Internet Options. In the Internet Option window, click on the
Delete button for Temporary Internet Files (CACHE).
Job
Orders Master List
-
How do I bring up a
master list of job orders for a particular area?
(06/17/03)
-
This may be done at
two different places in SKIES. Go to Reports/Case Management/Query:
Employer/Query Type: Job Orders with or without Employer Name. You
may Run the Query and bring up Job Orders in a WorkSource location
or double click in Worksite City field and type in a location using
the wildcard (%) in the Find box of the overlay screen; click Find,
click Run Query. Acrobat Reader will engage and display the report
on your screen. You can then use the print command to print what you
are seeing on the screen. You may also go through Binocular/Job
Order/Select an Office Name or WDA/Job Status- select Open/Execute
Query. This method will not produce a printable report. To refine
the search, insert an O*NET code or highlight a particular industry
and then Execute Query. This is view only on your computer screen.
Printing
-
Acrobat Reader is
not printing. Why? (06/17/03)
-
This is a typical
complaint of a user that left their SKIES application open and went
to some other feature on their computer such as their email or a
WORD document. That action caused a disconnection to the automated
print command in SKIES. To keep this from happening again, go to
your Desktop, select Internet Explorer. Then click on Tools menu in
the toolbar and select Internet Options. Now, click on the Advanced
tab and find the phrase "reuse windows for launching shortcuts". If
the box next to this phrase is checked, it needs to be unchecked so
SKIES will retain the print command. Click on Apply, then click OK.
Then, restart your SKIES session and you should not loose printing
capability.
Name Search
-
I cannot find a
seeker or employer. The Execute Query message says “there is no such
Seeker” or “there is no such Employer” or “there is no such
Provider”. Why? (06/17/03)
-
Conduct a wildcard
search using the "%" Percent Sign. Enter the first two letters of a
name or the first two digits of a number followed by the %
(Wildcard). Select from the list displayed and locate the Seeker or
Employer or Provider you are looking for.
ONET/NAICS
Codes
-
I cannot always
think of the right word to put into the field to find the right ONET
or NAICS code. Is there an easier way to do this? (06/17/03)
-
The web sites listed
below are both excellent resources and make the word search faster
and easier when you don’t know the correct word to use for your
search of an ONET or NAICS code.
