PC hardware, peripheral, and software standards for new
purchases, as well as minimum standards for existing PC
hardware. These standards will be reviewed, if needed,
revised, and published on a quarterly basis.
Technology Standards
Provides a basic
understanding of the SKIES infrastructure, and its dependencies and
requirements. There are two basic SKIES components; the network
infrastructure and the SKIES application. This document addresses the
many network infrastructure components that influence connectivity and
performance of the SKIES application.
Connectivity
(Electronic Access to WorkSource Facilities)
In
order to access the WorkSource self-service Internet web site as well as
the Washington Services, Knowledge, and Information Exchange System
(SKIES), Partnership and partner staff must have access to the Internet or
the Department of Information Services (DIS) “backbone”. To
ensure the broadest range of accessibility for all partners in the system,
The Employment Security Department will provide direct connections from
certified WorkSource Centers and selected certified affiliate sites to the
Department of Information Services "backbone".

External
Systems Interface
During
the feasibility study for the technology development for the WorkSource
system, several Local Workforce Development Areas (WDAs) had local
technology systems. At the state level we made a commitment to
support the continuation of those local systems with the understanding
that those systems would be the responsibility of the local WDA.
