The federal WorkForce
Investment Act (WIA) provides a range of workforce development
activities administered through the Employment Security Department and
local organizations promoting an increase in employment, job retention,
earnings, and occupational skills. These activities benefit job seekers,
laid off workers, youth, incumbent workers, new entrants to the
workforce, veterans, persons with disabilities, and employers.

Provides disability job training services. The Division of Vocational
Rehabilitation's mission is to enable individuals with disabilities to obtain
and keep employment.
King County Dislocated
Worker Program
Provides individualized job search assistance, career counseling and retraining
options for eligible WIA Dislocated Workers.
Pacific Associates
Provides training, job placement and reemployment assistance for economically
disadvantaged and long-term unemployed persons eligible for WIA Dislocated
Workers and WIA Adults.
TRAC Associates
Provides individualized job search assistance, career counseling and retraining
options for eligible WIA Dislocated Workers and WIA Adults..
YWCA
Eastside Employment Program provides individualized services with priority
funding for Bellevue and Kirkland residents over the age of 18. |
