Employment Re-Entry Classes

Job Hunter curriculum is delivered as a 30 hour workshop at Community Justice Centers (listed by area) and WorkSource Offices.

Partnering for Successful Re-Entry

OES offers training for community based organizations, WorkSource Staff and affiliates to develop expertise in offender barriers that may inhibit successful community and employment re-entry.

Job Search & Placement Assistance (WorkSource Offices)

Upon release ex-offenders are linked to local  WorkSource Offices.

Washington State Bonding Program (Bonds)

Individual fidelity bonds are available for at-risk applicants who are denied coverage by commercial carriers because of record of arrest, conviction or imprisonment, history of alcohol or drug abuse, poor credit, lack of employment history, or dishonorable military discharge.

Work Opportunity Tax Credit (Tax Credits)

Employers hiring ex-offenders who have been convicted or released from prison with one year of the date of hire, and are a member of a low-income family, qualify for up to $2,400 tax credit off bottom-line end of year business taxes.

Carl Perkin's Administration

Federal grant funds are available as competitive proposals to subcontract with a broad range of service providers to deliver vocational education programs, services and activities to ex-offenders.

Going Home - The Washington Statewide Offender Reentry Initiative

A pilot reentry project in King, Pierce, and Spokane Counties for juveniles and young adults between ages 14 and 35 years.  The three-year grant promotes systemic improvements for communities statewide to prepare for successful ex-offender reintegration.

Ex-Offender Work Orientation Program

The Ex-Offender Work Orientation Program specializes in delivering employment re-entry services to ex-offenders by contracting with community based organizations (CBO).  The comprehensive services include employment development plans (EDP), job seeking skills instruction, education and training programs, job referral and placement, support service recommendations; and recruitment and screening for employers.

Jail Industries Board (Jail Industries Board)

Offender Employment Services serves as the state administrative unit for the Executive staff of the Jail Industries Board. The Board, composed of Governor appointed business leaders and criminal justice officials is charged with providing statewide leadership and technical assistance to establish, develop, and maintain jail industries work programs and education opportunities through partnerships with labor, business, victims, communities and government.
