Return to LMEA homepage About High Growth & Declining Occupations
Projected Job Growth and Decline These tables offer a "rank" style look at those occupations that are projected to be in either high growth or decline over the next two years, in order of jobs expected to be added (or subtracted) during the projection period. However, this is not a comprehensive list of all occupations (see definitions below). Please link back to the Occupational Projections Home for additional comprehensive reports.

Defintion: Declining Occupations Any occupation posting negative job growth (losses) over the projection period is considered declining.

Geography These tables are provided by Workforce Development Area, of which there are twelve in Washington. Workforce Development Areas are regions in which employers and job seekers are delivered career services under the Workforce Investment Act (1998). They are typically multi-county areas in non-urban parts of the state and single-county units in Washington’s urbanized regions.

Uses for This Information These tables are especially useful to people evaluating their eligibility for special training programs. It can also contribute to workers’ and job seekers’ selection of specific occupations for job searches or fast career changes.
