Monday

Goal Setting and Knowing Yourself ~ Module 1 and 2
8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
The most difficult part of any job search may be taking the first step. In this workshop, you will gain an understanding of the changing workplace and learn about WorkSource and community resources that can help. You will also learn how to use job search information.

The second part of this workshop discusses the choices and changes job seekers are continually faced with. Learning "who you are" can affect how you plan, control, and shape your life. Participate in this interactive workshop to gain new and exciting information about yourself!

Labor Market Research and Effective Job Search Techniques ~ Module 4 and Module 5
1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
A successful job search is really finding an employer who is looking for someone like you. Learn how to research your labor market, develop networks, and conduct informational interviews. You will recognize the doors to discover great job opportunities and close in on them quickly and effectively. You will also learn how to use the www.go2worksource Web site and the valuable job seeker information contained in the site.

The second part of this Module will discuss new technology and a fast moving job market have changed the rules for the current job search. Module 5 details today’s top seven job search methods and how they can generate quick results. You will learn how to network and to organize your work history into a “one-minute commercial” that really sells.

Tuesday

Skills and Abilities ~ Module 3
9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
You will learn how to identify skills you didn’t realize you had and how to present those skills to employers. This Module teaches you how to interest the employer by presenting your skills and abilities in powerful, new, and unexpected ways.

GED Classes
12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Prepare for your GED exam. Take tests to check your knowledge and ask the instructor questions regarding the GED test. There is no charge for this class and you can study at your own pace during the class.

Wednesday

Winning Applications and Resumes ~ Module 6
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
You will use your skills and abilities to identify your strengths for employment opportunities. Learn to identify, demonstrate, and package with confidence the skills and personal qualities today's employers are looking for. You will do hands on computer work to find your “transferable skills” through user friendly “WinWay Resume” software to begin building your resume.

Advanced Resume Class
2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
For individuals with a resume, but interested in assistance updating the resume. Staff will review the resume and suggest updates or changes to help job seekers become successful.

GED Classes
12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Prepare for your GED exam. Take tests to check your knowledge and ask the instructor questions regarding the GED test. There is no charge for this class and you can study at your own pace during the class.

Thursday

Interviewing for Results ~ Module 7
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Learn how to sell yourself effectively by thinking like an employer. Also learn tips to help you handle an employment interview. Learn helpful interviewing information and practice your interviewing skills in a supportive, realistic environment. Bring your questions!

GED Classes
12:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Prepare for your GED exam. Take tests to check your knowledge and ask the instructor questions regarding the GED test. There is no charge for this class and you can study at your own pace during the class.
