Why do I need to provide my Federal Employment Identification Number to register with Go2WorkSource?
For security purposes, WorkSource attempts to match your Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) and other business identifiers that you provide with business records in Employment Security's database to verify your business prior to approving your Go2WorkSource registration.
Either a FEIN, or if your company meets the exemption for one, your Social Security Number, is needed to establish your company is a bona fide employer doing business in Washington State. The Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) is the number the IRS uses to identify your company for tax purposes.
Both the United Business Identifier (UBI) and the Employment Security Department Tax Identification numbers are issued as part of the Master Business Application for employers in Washington State.
How does WorkSource protect sensitive information?
WorkSource uses SSL Encryption to secure pages with sensitive content. SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer, and is the industry standard form of encryption, used to secure transmissions over the Internet.
Encryption is the technology that scrambles information being sent along a network, rendering it useless if it is somehow intercepted. WorkSource uses SSL whenever a transmission includes sensitive or confidential information, such as addresses, phone numbers, passwords, etc.
