This article describes how to post a résumé using the Copy and Paste method to post a résumé.

The "Copy and Paste" method is a good option if you already have developed and written a résumé or if you prefer to write one without assistance.

  1. Click the Post Résumés link on the left menu bar. If you haven't logged in yet you will be prompted to do so.
  2. Under Choose Résumé Type, select the Copy and Paste option.
  3. Click the Continue button.
  4. Under Occupational Category, select the occupation category which best describes the type of work you are seeking.
  5. Occupational Category

  6. Under Summary Statement, enter a concise and specific statement about the work you are seeking, and your highest level of skill to support that kind of work. Employers will see this statement first when conducting a résumé search. A maximum of 80 characters (including spaces) is allowed.
  7. Under Title, enter a résumé title that you will use later to identify this résumé in your MyWorkSource account.
  8. Under Enable Search, select Yes or No to indicate whether or not you wish your résumé to be viewed by registered employers. Only one résumé can be enabled at a time.

Under Your Résumé, "copy and paste" the text of your résumé into the space provided:

  1. Open the résumé document in the word processing program you used to create it. If necessary, reformat your résumé so it will appear properly when viewed on a web page or via e-mail (see Format a Résumé for help).
  2. Highlight the portion which you would like to include in your WorkSource résumé (Note: it is not necessary to include your name and contact info. WorkSource will display that for you).
  3. Click Edit on the word processor toolbar.
  4. Select Copy on the Edit menu.
  5. Edit menu

  6. Switch back to the Post Résumé form.
  7. Click inside the Your Résumé text field.
  8. Click Edit on the web browser toolbar.
  9. Select Paste on the Edit menu.
