Application Form, Resume Builder & Cover Letters The ESD “Generic Application” form will be available on-line for use by job seekers when a job order specifies the employer has requested an application be used in lieu of a resume. In addition to the current cut-and-paste method for posting a résumé, a new step-by-step Résumé Builder will be available for seekers who prefer to fill in the blanks to create a resume, which will then be formatted by the system. A cover letter may be attached to each résumé or generic application form.
My WorkSource Registered Job Seekers will be able to create a password protected “My WorkSource” account to manage multiple resumes, save job search criteria, view résumé and job search statistics, and access the messaging service.
|
Seekers can store up to five resumes and one
generic application form in their account. A résumé can be posted as “anonymous”, in
which case the job seeker’s name cannot be viewed by the
employer. In his account, the job seeker will see a list of
all posted resumes with the post and expiration dates. They
may update, hide from employer search, or reactivate resumes,
and access other statistics such as the number of times a
résumé was viewed by employers. Job Search History Report Seekers will be able to save and print a job search log, which will appear in a format consistent with UI requirements. The seeker will enter date parameters, which will then bring up a list of referrals and job orders applied for on-line as far back as one year. The list will show job numbers and job titles of all jobs accessed through WorkSource. In addition, the history will show the status of SKIES (WA) job orders in the Pending List. All resumes will be automatically deactivated after 6 months of inactivity. Manage Resumes Seekers will be able to update, deactivate, delete or reactivate a resume from the MyWorkSource account. After 18 months of inactivity, a resume will be deleted and archived. Seekers will be notified through e-mail and the messaging system 30 days prior to each of these actions. Saved Searches and Job Scouts Version 7.0 will provide seekers the ability to “save” job search criteria to be run at a later time. Job seekers will also be able to set up a Job Scout which will run a saved job search at a specified time, and automatically save the results in the job seekers account, or forward them to the seeker via e-mail. Search criteria will be expanded to include a selection where seekers can limit a search to bring up only short-term jobs (job duration less than 150 days). |
