Youth Programs
This workshop reviewed key-issues on how to design and deliver youth programs in a way that result in positive outcomes under the current WIA Youth Performance Measures as well as the new “Common Measures” and their reporting requirements. The workshop is designed to help participants ‘make friends’ with the measures and really understand how they are calculated and what strategies can be used to enable everyone serving customers to improve performance. The workshop contains detailed information on the changes to the definitions and the measures that have taken effect on July 1 of last year and those that have recently been enacted with TEGL 17-05. We will pay particularly close attention to issues of attaining positive literacy and numeracy outcomes as well as diplomas, certificates, and credentials. This workshop will be interactive and participants will engage in numerous activities and will review and address scenarios based on real-life examples.

Adult, Dislocated Worker and Employment Services Programs
This workshop reviewed key-issues on how to design and deliver WIA Adult, Dislocated Worker and Wagner/Peyser funded Employment Services in an integrated One-Stop Career Center System in a way that result in positive outcomes under the new “Common Measures”. The workshop is designed to help participants ‘make friends’ with the measures and to remain focused on delivering the best service mix to the participant. Among others, the workshop will cover the following topics:

  • How to ensure that WIA and Employment Services are well coordinated toward positive outcomes in both programs.
  • How to handle common enrollment and common exit points.
  • How to use real-time indicators to help project performance outcomes.
  • How to meet performance goals under the Common Measures and the GMAP measures.
